Research published in 1996 revealed that employees experienced improved performance
and increased alertness attributable to seated massages administered twice
weekly in their office setting. (Int'l J. Neuroscience, 86, p. 197-205).
A typical workplace massage lasts 15 minutes, and is usually offered in a
warm, quiet room or cubicle, with soothing music playing. The employee remains
fully clothed, and relaxes into a specially designed chair so the massage therapist
can address lower back, hip, shoulder, upper back, neck and cranial tension.
The therapist can also provide special attention to the arms, wrists and hands
of workers who are vulnerable to repetitive motion injuries. |
